Kedarnath Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, high in the Garhwal Himalayas near the Mandakini River. Sitting at an altitude of about 3,583 meters, the temple is surrounded by snow-covered peaks, giving it a peaceful and powerful atmosphere.
Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and also a part of the Char Dham Yatra. The temple is believed to have been originally built by the Pandavas and later renovated by Adi Shankaracharya. Because of heavy snowfall, it remains open only from April/May to October/November each year.
Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Alaknanda River. It lies between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, at an altitude of about 3,133 meters.
Badrinath is one of the four Char Dhams and also part of the 108 Divya Desams sacred to Vaishnavites. The temple is known for its colorful entrance and spiritual significance. Like Kedarnath, it remains open only during the summer months due to extreme winter weather.
